A Mission in Common: the Naples Art District Tips Its Hat to Naples ArtCrafters
The Naples Art District is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that champions and supports arts education in a variety of ways, to encourage art awareness and foster art appreciation in Naples and across Southwest Florida. The Naples Art District is a cultural arts tourism destination, as designated by Collier County, and is home to the largest concentration of working artists and craftspeople in Southwest Florida. Naples ArtCrafters, also a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has a mission similar to that of the Naples Art District by supporting local artists and promoting the development of arts programs and activities in the Naples area. Both non-profit arts organizations are run solely by the volunteer efforts of their member artists. Some artists of the Naples Art District are also members of the ArtCrafters.
The Naples ArtCrafters organization supports a mission of advancing the arts by hosting art exhibitions that display the work of local area artists. Like the Naples Art District (NAD), the ArtCrafters contribute to other community organizations in the area that also support the arts or that utilize art to achieve positive changes that build community. For example, it helps back arts education for students in Collier County, like NAD artists who volunteer regularly to teach art in daycare centers and schools; and it supports initiatives such as Empty Bowls Naples, an organization to which NAD potters contribute significantly to help eliminate hunger in the Naples area.
At the ArtCrafters’ outside shows, you can see some of the work created by local artisans, including some created by some of Naples Art District’s very own!
