About The Artist

As an artist and volunteer NOAA ocean scientist, I am inspired by the science behind how sunlight affects the color of the Gulf on any given day at any given time. Through my art, I am able to capture the interplay of this spectrum of light and how it affects the reflective surface of the water at a particular moment in time.

I am especially interested in how that sunlight affects the color of the Gulf each and every evening, as my husband and I were married on Vanderbilt Beach 25 years ago at sunset.

I am also currently working on a wave series, exploring how they are created by the wind and the sun, along with a sand series and a seafoam series, depicting the composition of these inorganic and organic matter.

As a passionate ocean conservationist, 10% of my proceeds are donated to the ocean.

I have a BA in Art History from Wellesley College which led to a career in interior design, art consulting and art specification. While a student, I also took several courses in studio art and in my retirement, finally became an artist myself.
