The state of Florida is a popular place for enjoying everything from beautiful, sunshiny beaches to historical attractions to varied cultural connections. Naples, Florida is especially well known for its burgeoning fine arts scene which has been thriving in recent years; it has become known far and wide as an arts destination. Art lovers appreciate Naples because of the access to great art museums, studios, and galleries such as those located in the Naples Art District. Naples also boasts many art festivals, including the upcoming Naples Uptown Thanksgiving Weekend Art Festival.
The Naples Uptown Thanksgiving Weekend Art Festival, presented by United Arts Council, will feature over 150 individual juried artists, including some from Naples and the Naples Art District, as well as many from other cities across the country. The artists will showcase their fine art, which ranges from mediums like sculpture and jewelry to painting and photography. The Naples Art District, which was established in the early 2000s and officially became a 501c-3 non-profit organization in 2016, has developed as a unique community of working artists and artisans who enjoy participating in events like the Naples Uptown Thanksgiving Weekend Art Festival and other art shows and events in the local area and across Florida and the world.
The artmakers of the Naples Art District have forged relationships with a larger group of creatives in the local community, especially their innovative and artful District neighbors who specialize in the production of draperies, upholstery, countertops, and furniture used by interior designers to enhance home and business interiors. The Naples Art District is an officially designated cultural arts tourism destination in Collier County that offers visitors the opportunity to encounter the fine arts and experience its execution by professional artists, while engaging in artmaking themselves as desired. This distinction also positively contributes to and impacts the economic strength and sustainability of individual fine artists in the Naples area. If you plan to be in Naples or the surrounding area over the upcoming Thanksgiving weekend, visit the artists of the Naples Art District and those visiting artists who will be showing some of their work at the Naples Uptown Thanksgiving Weekend Art Festival. The festival, scheduled for Saturday, November 27-Sunday, November 28, 2021, will be open from 10:00 am-5:00 pm on both days. It will be held outdoors, with the artists’ work showing along 10th St. S., from Central Ave. to 5th Ave. S. There is no cost for admission.
