Artist Anika Ellison Savage At TAPESTRY FINE ART 5760 Shirley Street, Suite 13

About The Artist

Anika’s work is an abstracted expression of space, form and movement.  Inspired by nature and design, she gives visual expression to her perceptions, reflections, and feelings.

Anika’s palette tends toward blues, teals, and other cool tones with splashes of warm, vibrant color.  She paints thinly in oil and acrylic, increasing thickness for textural emphasis.  Anika often integrates fabric, paper, glass, buttons, beads and found materials.  Her porcelain ceramics are delicate objects that are both sculptural and practical.

A professional artist since 2005, Anika is an inducted member of the National Association of Women Artists, based in New York City. She is also an active member of NAWA’s Massachusetts and Florida Chapters.  Anika is represented in galleries and exhibitions in New England, New York and Florida.

Prior to focusing full time on art, Anika practiced architecture, organizational strategy, systems thinking and scenario planning.  She has organized future focused conferences, written for professional publications and co-authored the book, Life Sustaining Organizations, A Design Guide

Anika holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute, a Master of Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley, and Master of Business Administration from Babson College. She lives in New England in the summer and winters in Florida. This geographic transition never fails to reinvigorate her perceptions and influence her work.

Artist Mediums

I paint the way I do because I can keep on putting more and more things in – like drama, pain, anger, love, a figure, a horse, my ideas of space… which has its own integrity and intensity. Willem de Kooning
