There are many art events in Naples, Florida throughout the warm months of summer, but the winter is busy as well. Starting in December, things to do in Naples abound! From performance art to visual art, there is something for everyone.

If your December schedule is already full, you can add Naples art events to your calendar starting in the new year. An upcoming event you should consider attending is Frida Fest. In collaboration with the Collier County Hispanic Arts Festival, ¡ARTEVIVA! in Naples, the Naples Art District (NAD) is presenting a two-week long art fest celebrating famed Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo.

During Frida Fest, slated for January 21-February 5, 2023, life-size “Fridas” decorated by NAD artists will be displayed throughout the District, along with impressive, colorful replica murals also created by the artists. Also on display for your viewing pleasure will be original artwork created in the style of Frida Kahlo, honoring her creativity and inspiration throughout the art world.

Opening day of Friday Fest in the Naples Art District will be Saturday, January 21. On this day, you will be able to enjoy Frida Festivities, and participate in an Art Alive! tour of over 100 working artist studios, from 1 pm to 5 pm. On Wednesday, February 1 from 3-7pm, and Thursday, February 2 from 1-5pm, visit the District to experience the Frida Fest Finale fun.

The Naples Art District Frida Fest is open to the entire local community and the general public at no cost. Throughout Frida Fest, many of the District’s member artists will have their studios and galleries open for you to view and purchase their original fine art as well. (Note: if you would like to visit with any of the artists outside of their open hours, don’t hesitate to reach out to them as they are happy to open their studios by appointment as well.)

The Naples Art District, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization since 2016 and a County Cultural Arts District since 2020, boasts the largest concentration of working artists in the Southwest Florida region; it is home to 100+ professional artists. Member artists of the District maintain studios and galleries in their unique industrial neighborhood that is also home to interior design and decor professionals. The District gives artists a place to share their creative talents with each other and visitors from the local community and all over the world. Feel free to contact the Naples Art District for more information about the organization’s mission and how it serves the community; and be sure to check out the official calendar of events and list of classes, which is available online for all people who want to explore the fine arts in greater depth with the member artists of the District. If you are unable to visit the Naples Art District for Frida Fest or any other scheduled event, don’t worry: the District is open and accessible to the public all year round.
