About The Artist
I am a self-taught artist with a passion for abstract painting. My entry into the world of art is somewhat unconventional. After enjoying a 32-year corporate career in Marketing and Strategy, I discovered I was a “late bloomer” with a creative capability I never knew I had. Moving to Florida gave me the inspiration and new appreciation of abstract art. Possibilities of creating paintings outside of the representational world were unlocked for me and that’s when my artistic journey began.
I am drawn to abstract painting because I enjoy the creative process where there are no rules. This freedom of expression enables me to approach my painting from a totally spontaneous vision, evolving as I go along to an unknown destination.
My paintings elicit strong emotional reactions and offer an exciting sensory experience. They reference the natural beauty of my surroundings in both Naples, Florida and Canandaigua, New York, where I live and paint. Color, ranging from soft and serene to vibrant and invigorating, is the language I use to connect with my viewer and communicate my emotions. My style is sometimes ethereal, dreamy, and celestial. Other times it is dynamic and bursting with energetic expression. My desire is to invite the viewer to walk through an open door and see what is beyond the painted canvas.
Immersing myself in my own creative world gives me joy and happiness, but what really excites me is when my work takes you on a visual journey that brings you pleasure and enjoyment.
I am seeking. I am striving. I am in it with all of my heart. Vincent Van Gogh
