Artist Jacqueline France At Trillium Gallery & Studio 5450 C Shirley St
About The Artist
Jacqueline received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After graduation and marriage, she taught art to children as an occupational therapist for four years. Jacque soon found she was busy raising her own family but continued to paint recreationally while developing an antique business that kept her traveling around the U.S. and Europe, brush and canvas at the ready.
After retiring from thirty years in the antiques business, Jacque became a member of several Chicago area gallery and art associations where she taught oil painting classes and conducted workshops and critiques. Her urge to paint full-time blossomed in 2000 after she attended a landscape painting workshop in Tuscany which prompted continued studying with several prominent painters here and abroad. The Art Institute of Chicago’s large French Impressionists collection has been a primary influence in her work.
Jacque made her public painting debut in 2005 with a highly successful show at the La Grange Gallery in La Grange Illinois.
Jacquel and her husband Gordon return frequently to Italy to paint and attend workshops. Landscapes and still life in oil are her favorite subjects but since becoming a Naples winter resident beach activity has become a regular theme.
Jacqueline’s paintings hang in private and corporate collections in Illinois, Florida, California, Italy and Ontario Canada.
Artist Mediums
PaintingWhen you go out to paint, try to forget what objects you have before you, a tree, a house, a field or whatever. Merely think here is a little square of blue, here an oblong of pink, here a streak of yellow, and paint it just as it looks to you, the exact color and shape. Claude Monet
